I'm interested in how to transform noisy and complex data into valuable scientific information. My research predominantly focuses on developing new techniques for galactic and extragalactic astrophysics, cosmology, and nuclear astrophysics but with far broader applications. 

 

I am the founder and co-chair of the Cosmostatistics Initiative (COIN), a worldwide research collaboration comprised of statisticians, computer scientists, musicians, philosophers, and astrophysicists.
